INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED ART EXPERIENCE, WATERLICHT BY DAAN ROOSEGAARDE, MAKE ITS REGIONAL DEBUT AT DUBAI’S JADDAF WATERFRONT, PRESENTED BY DUBAI HOLDING
World renowned innovator and artist Daan Roosegaarde brings the world-famous WATERLICHT, an immersive light installation premiering for the first time in the region and presented by Dubai Holding. WATERLICHT marks the opening of Jameel Arts Centre, which will also include a wide range of exhibitions and installations by more than 40 artists and on-site experiences at Jaddaf Waterfront, and coincides with Dubai Design Week.

Described as a ‘dream landscape on the power and poetry of water’, WATERLICHT is a monumental, interactive public art installation which uses a combination of LEDs and lenses to create an ever-changing layer of light, the effect of which is to feel immersed under water.
About Daan Roosegaarde
Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde (1979) is a creative thinker and maker of social designs which explore the relation between people, technology and space and best known for creating landscapes of the future. He founded Studio Roosegaarde in 2007, where he works with his team of designers and engineers towards a better future. Roosegaarde is Young Global Leader at the World Economic Forum and featured by Forbes and Good 100 as a creative change maker. Roosegaarde is also this year’s keynote speaker at Dubai Design Week.
Due the unique nature of the installation, WATERLICHT can only be viewed after sunset, 7:00-10:00pm on Sunday, Nov 11, Thursday Nov 15, and Friday Nov 16 at Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park adjacent to Jameel Arts Centre.
