This tour and workshop is inspired by Chiharu Shiota’s solo exhibition at the Jameel Art Centre featuring an immersive yarn installation titled Departure. Participants focus on exploring the ideas behind the work and on weaving forms. The workshop uses upcycled wooden looms from Ras Al Khaimah and participants are taught production techniques to create their own yarn pieces inspired by the artwork.

Key workshop takeaways focus on looking at art but also on making and reflecting.
