How can I visit Jameel Arts Centre?
Jameel Arts Centre will be open to visitors during the Holy Month from 10am-4pm on Saturday to Thursday; 12-4pm on Fridays; 9pm to midnight on select Mondays & Fridays; and closed on Tuesdays.
Please plan your visit to Jameel Arts Centre ahead of your arrival: your safety and a clean, healthy environment come first. We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy the exhibitions, but there are a few new procedures to keep in mind.
Firstly, please book your two-hour slot online. That way we can ensure a comfortable visit for you that keeps social distancing and hygiene a top priority. Pre-booking is required to access the Jameel Library.

Is the shop open?
Art Jameel Shop’s opening hours are the same as the Centre’s. As the number of customers inside the shop is limited to 5 people at a time, if it’s busy, you may be asked to wait in the Jameel or line up momentarily outside on the marked locations, to ensure social distancing. Please remember that shopping with us supports artists, designers, writers and publishers, and is also a contribution towards Art Jameel’s work in supporting artists and creative communities.
Can I come with a group of friends?
Depending on the number of people, please plan ahead for your visit and book your slots online. That way we can ensure a comfortable visit for you that keeps social distancing and hygiene a top priority.
Am I able to book a tour?
Jameel Arts Centre runs several specialised and socially distanced guided tours for groups of up to 8 individuals per visit welcoming families, arts enthusiasts and groups. Email us at [email protected] for general group tours. For university and school groups, please email [email protected].
Is Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park open?
Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park is open to the public and masks must be worn at all times.
Is Jameel Library open?
Those looking to conduct research and engage with the Jameel Library collection are welcome to book a two-hour slot through a dedicated registration link. Pre-booking is required to secure your place.
Are walk-ins permitted?
Walk-in visitors will be permitted depending on the capacity of visitors during that given time. All walk-ins will be requested to sign-up at the Welcome Desk before visiting the galleries or Library.
Are children allowed to visit the museum?
Everyone is welcome at Jameel Arts Centre.
What are the safety and precautionary measures taken by the Centre?
For your safety and theirs, the Art Jameel team will wear face masks.
As per the UAE law, you are required to wear a face mask whenever you are in public. If you require a change of mask while visiting, our team will be happy to provide them. Gloves are not required but are provided upon request.
Upon arrival, your temperature will be taken. All visitors will arrive through the ground level main entrance. Basement parking is currently closed and all visitors are requested to park in the outdoor parking spaces.
New maximum gallery capacities have been calculated and the number of visitors per room will be monitored by our security staff.
Remember to follow the general hygiene standards. Wash or disinfect your hands regularly; sneeze and cough into your elbow or a tissue; maintain a minimum distance of 2 metres and avoid the formation of groups.
What measures are being taken to keep the Centre clean?
The exhibition spaces and visitor reception area are cleaned, aired and disinfected throughout the day after each visitation time slot. This also includes cleaning the public toilets every 30 minutes as well as disinfecting “high-touch areas” such as door handles with the approved cleaning material by the UAE Ministry of Health. Hand disinfectant is provided for visitors at the entrance.
What happens if a visitor does not follow the rules?
Jameel Arts Centre is required to report any violation of the UAE’s COVID-19 laws to the authorities. Our staff is authorised to deny entry to any members of the public that shows signs of illness or refuses to wear the mandated safety gear. Under the law, violators of the laws are subject to fines.
What happens if I learn that I have COVID-19?
Please only visit Jameel Arts Centre if you feel healthy. Should you test positive for COVID-19 within two weeks of your visit, you are kindly requested to notify our team by emailing [email protected]. Your details will be kept confidential, but this will guide us in testing our own team members.
Are there any areas closed to the public?
Our prayer rooms will remain closed until further notice.

Jameel Arts Centre is open-access and free for all. Visitors are requested to stop at the Welcome Desk to register and pick up a map to explore the Jameel, courtyards and the surrounding Park.
The Jameel has a number of facilities to make visits more enjoyable and convenient. Jameel Arts Centre has free wifi throughout the building for visitors to remain connected.

Parking is available outside the Jameel, adjacent to Art Jameel Shop.

- Families and visitors with children are requested to ensure that those in their care adhere to the art-friendly etiquette detailed below
- Changing tables are available in the family restroom on the ground floor
While visiting Jameel Arts Centre, please refrain from:
- Smoking anywhere in the Jameel
- Touching or resting on artworks
- Bringing pets or other animals into the museum. Arrangements for service animals may be made through [email protected]
- Consuming food or drinks in the galleries
- Entering the Jameel with bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades or other similar objects
Photo and video
Personal photography and video are permitted inside Jameel Arts Centre. However, accreditation is necessary for the use of professional video equipment on the premises. Please email [email protected].
