Family Saturdays at the Jameel: Halloween Edition

All welcome, pre-registration required

This Halloween season, join us for a special Family Saturday filled with eerie fun and creative play! Dive into ghostly tales, explore haunted landscapes, and celebrate the rich traditions of storytelling and costume-making inspired by Mohammad Alfaraj’s Seas are sweet, fish tears are salty and Bady Dalloul’s Self-Portrait with a cat I don’t have.

This Family Saturday encourages families to explore how the human and non-human world blur through folklore and imagination. The event draws from Alfaraj’s work, which blends landscape with imaginative storytelling, and from Dalloul’s practice, which reimagines known realities and blends them with elements of fiction. The world of storytelling in both artists’ practice offers a perfect setting where the eerie can unfold.Participants are welcome to come dressed in a costume or join the event to design their own using found objects.

The activities are free to attend and run all day to encourage and support creativity and imagination. Jameel Arts Centre strives to provide space for children to share stories, and to foster cultural awareness through artistic exploration that supports healthy child-development and growth.

Family Saturdays at the Jameel are suitable for all ages. All materials and step by step guides will be provided.
