Filipino Poets and Pacita Abad: Glorious and Gilded in Gold

In this iteration of Sa Tahanan Co.’s journeying programme ‘Filipino Poets and Their Poems,’ the prompt is the prolific works of artist Pacita Abad, whose vibrant art traverses through places and everydayness regardless of continent. Three Filipino poets have been commissioned to respond to Pacita’s themes and artworks through poetry. Dale Ang, Jared Maxilom and Rosan Katlea Juan perform their poems while leading a walk-through of Abad’s exhibition streets of gold, in an exploration of what it means to be at peace in-between places.

This public programme is inspired by the solo exhibition, ‘Pacita Abad: I Thought the Streets Were Paved with Gold’ which runs until February 13, 2021. The first iteration of this poetry performance took place on December 10, 2021.
