Join us for the opening of IN TRANSIT: Botany of a Journey by Asunción Molinos Gordo, the second Artist’s Garden commission at Jameel Arts Centre.
Concerned with ideas of interconnectivity, mobility and cohabitation, Molinos Gordo’s installation is a garden grown from seeds ingested by Dubai’s diverse population, via the city’s central sanitation plant. The highly original work challenges romantic concepts of nature while embodying the interconnected reality of the human condition.
Join us on Saturday, February 1 from 4pm to 5:30pm for the opening. Following a tour of the garden, Asunción Molinos Gordo will join Art Jameel’s Dawn Ross and writer/researcher Nadia Christidi in a discussion about her research on the germination of seeds that have survived the human digestive process, reflecting on ideas of the gut, mobility and cohabitation.
The opening is free and open to all.
