Join Jameel Library for a special event as part of the public programmes for Jameel Library Circles on Saturday, 27 June, 2026, at 2:00pm.
Haneena P.A. leads the Sufrah Salon, a research support group held in conjunction with her Library Circles display which chronicles her archival research into Mappila women writers from colonial Kerala. The session functions as an active workshop for researchers to workshop their projects, discuss alternative methodologies, and navigate field obstacles. Invited participants are encouraged to bring materials from their ongoing work in any format such as images, documents, audio, video, artifacts, or notes, to help the cohort better understand their project’s context. Guided by structured prompts, participants will engage with Haneena and each other to share field experiences, discuss challenges in locating or accessing materials, building relationships, and interpreting evidence, while reflecting on creative and experimental methods that advance their inquiries.
Please note that this session will be transcribed for documentation purposes.
The two-hour session is open to the public to attend as observers. However, individuals with active research projects who are eagerly interested in participating rather than observing are welcome to request a spot as an active member via email request to [email protected].
Spaces are limited. To register as an observer, please visit the RSVP link.
