Library Circles feature research, talks and experimental interventions by UAE practitioners in the Jameel Library and Jameel Arts Centre. The programme explores alternative research methodologies and representations with a focus on ‘thinking in public’.
This iteration of Library Circles presents a research display by researcher Reem Khorshid, in the spaces leading up to the Jameel Library. The research tracks the import and export of infrastructure and institutional models between Egypt and the Gulf, reading state-relationships and socio-political histories. These exchanges and their histories vary from educational frameworks to urban planning developments, including contributions by Egyptian architects in the Gulf to the new developments underway by Gulf real-estate developers pertaining to the New Capital in Cairo.
Reem will also be giving a talk at the Jameel Library on Wednesday, 25 September.
