This year’s Ramadan Nights programming centres on two fun-filled nights for visitors of all ages and families on Saturday April 9 and 16 from 9pm till midnight.
Get to know the exhibitions, participate in workshops for both adults and children by a locally-based creative, do a hands-on activity at one of our stations or enjoy a late night treat at our farm to fork restaurant Teible or one of our local food vendors!
Ramadan Nights are free and open to all. Limited capacity artist-led workshop participation will be granted on a first come, first served basis.
APRIL 16 PROGRAMME
9:00-9:30pm | 11:00-11:30pm | Exhibition tour, Lobby meeting point | Join this “express tour” to gain special insight on the current exhibitions at the Jameel.
9:00 pm – 12:00 am |Self-led Activity Station: Foam prints, Lobby | Taking inspiration from artist Fahd Burki’s playful geometric abstract works from the current exhibition Daydreams, this self-led activity invites you to explore the simple process of foam printing.
9:00 pm – 12:00 am |Self-led Activity Station: Ramadan-inspired photobooth and DIY picture frames, Lobby | Experience our Ramdan inspired Photobooth station and create your own DIY picture frame to hold your photographs.
9:15 pm – 10:30 pm |10:45 – 12:00 am | Workshop: Handmade notebooks led by Hello Makers, Colonnade | In this workshop, participants experiment with creating their own leather notebooks sourced from local camel leather found in Al Ain. Participants learn how to bind, craft and assemble custom A6 notebooks.
9:15 pm – 10:30 pm |10:45 – 12:00 am | Workshop: Food illustrations led by Reem Al Ani, Project Space| This workshop delves into the art of food illustration with a Ramadan twist. Discover the fundamentals of drawing to make food illustrations look good enough to eat! While examining an array of traditional appetisers, hearty mains and delectable desserts, participants focus on bringing out the best of their chosen dish by conveying the colors and textures.
9:30 – 10:30 pm |Ramadan Storytime in English, Library| Listen to a lively selection of tales in this family-oriented English-language story time at Jameel Library. (Limited capacity)
9:30-10:15pm |10:30-11:15pm | Workshop: Greek mythological astronomy with Dubai Astronomy Group, Roof Terrace | Throughout history civilisations have developed unique systems for ordering the heavens, from Babylonia to ancient Egypt, establishing the basis for Greek astronomy. This session shares stories told by Greek astronomers and includes a telescopic viewing of celestial bodies including the full moon. (Limited capacity)
Shopping | Browse a collection of the holy month’s seasonal finds or get a head start on your Eid shopping at Art Jameel Shop, home for all that is current in contemporary art, design, architecture and culture.
All night eats | Treat yourself to a beverage, sweet treat or popcorn from local vendors as you spend your Ramadan night with friends and family. And if you are seeking a gourmet farm to fork meal, Teible, Jameel Arts Centre’s new eatery can accommodate your suhoor meal.
