Reading Group: ArtEd – Session 2

Jameel Library Reading Groups continue with another session of ArtEd. In this iteration, participants delve into texts and other materials that expand on Art education within both global and regional contexts.

In this session, participants will be reading from Spiritual Art and Art Education by Janis Lander and Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. The session is led in English by Visual Communications Professor and artist Zahra Jewanjee. The discussion will be directed as an examination of the text within a local context, taking into consideration regional artistic and spiritual traditions as they are taught and written about in books. The reading groups are free and open to all. Registration is required, as space is limited. Registered participants are expected to commit to the reading material and to attend the session they have registered to maintain a respectful, informed and open discursive environment.
