Sada 22 Podcast Conference

Everyone is starting a podcast. Whether recording from a living room or a big production studio, content creators are everywhere – how can you stand out?

Art Jameel partners with mstdfr and Kerning Cultures Network to host Sada 22 Podcast Conference at Jameel Arts Centre, Dubai’s hub for contemporary arts and creativity.

Building on the two editions of the Middle East Podcast Forum, Sada [Arabic for ‘echo’] continues as a community-driven event advancing regional perspectives on podcasting. This edition’s theme Break through the Noise, is an afternoon-long event including panels, networking sessions and moments to meet fellow English and Arabic-speaking podcasters and podcast aficionados.

Programme:

1:00 – 2:00pm Arrival window

2:00 – 2:15pm Welcome remarks

2:15 – 2:45pm Panel #1: Advertising, But Not Really: Branded Content & Podcasting

This panel will explore how brands can utilise podcasts to build their following, and how podcasters can work with brands to build longer-lasting, sustainable shows. Brands and ad agencies are increasingly working with content creators to build brand identity, and podcasters are content creators (just in audio form).

In this discussion, panelists will elaborate on the many forms of storytelling that work in building podcasts. Tips will be given on interviewing, but the aim is to go beyond the interview and look at how podcasters can stand out by exploring different narrative styles.

3:15 – 3:45pm Coffee and networking break

3:45 – 4:15pm Panel #3: The Role of Video in an Audio-first Format
