On the eve of the exhibition opening of Sarah Abu Abdallah: For The First Time In A Long Time, Abu Aballah will be in conversation with Kuwait based artist and writer Abdullah Al Mutairi on her visual arts and writing practice, and on their shared interest in investigating the aesthetics of visual culture in the Gulf.
Sarah Abu Abdallah (b.1990 Lives and works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia)
Abu Abdallah studied Digital Media Art Studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and at the University of Sharjah. She has shown internationally in solo and group exhibitions including the Gwangju Biennial 2018, Sharjah Art Foundation (2018), Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris (2017), Centre Pompidou (2017), Chicago Underground film festival (2015), Luma Foundation (2015), Serpentine Galleries (2013), Whitechapel Gallery (2013) and the 55th Venice Biennale (2013).
Abdullah Al-Mutairi (b.1990) is an artist and writer based in Kuwait. He’s exhibited work solo and as part of the art collective GCC.
