Inspired by Chiharu Shiota’s work, Departure, this workshop delves into the theme of migration. The workshop is led by Safwa Hashim and Qutouf Yahia, the co-founders of Backyard Poetry. Participants will focus on writings themed around migration through a variety of methods, thematic discussions, peer reviews and performance exercises. The participants will have the opportunity to recite their selected poems in a public spoken word night on Saturday, April 13 as part of the Performance in the Park series at Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park. The workshop is free; advance registration recommended.
