This hands-on workshop, hosted by multidisciplinary artist and educator Sana Waqar, invites children to dive into the exciting world of printmaking using two eco-friendly techniques: Styrofoam engraving and collagraph stamping.
Pasticipants will use recycled Styrofoam trays and cardboard squares to create their own stamps, which they’ll then use to make unique greeting cards and colorful repeat-pattern artworks. In the Styrofoam activity, children draw directly onto soft Styrofoam to form printing plates. For the collagraph stamping, they’ll build textured stamps by sticking foam shapes onto cardboard squares. Paint is rolled evenly over the plates and stamped onto paper, producing vibrant, layered prints.
The workshop encourages playful exploration of texture, pattern, and repetition, letting children enjoy the magic of seeing their designs come to life. No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided to ensure a fun, creative experience.
This workshop is free to attend and is suitable for individuals and families of all ages. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
