Join Jameel Library for a special event as part of the public programmes for Jameel Library Circles on November 16, 2023, at 11:00am.
Azza Aboualam presents her Library Circles display on the mosques of New York and Sharjah and the methods of research. The presentation concludes with a participatory workshop in which participants are encouraged to bring images, videos, plans, or other materials related to a building designed for public use. During the workshop, participants will engage with Aboualam and each other in discussing aspects such as materials, community involvement, and site considerations, along with the modifications made to the building.
The one-hour session is open to the public and invites everyone to actively participate. Please arrive at the Library 15 minutes prior and check-in at the library desk.

About Azza Aboualam
Azza Aboualam, an Assistant Professor at Zayed University Dubai, holds a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) from Yale University. Her expertise spans research-based architectural projects, including contributions to the UAE Architecture Initiative and the publication “In Search of Spaces of Coexistence: An Architect’s Journey.” Significant collaborations include work with the Department of Public Works in Sharjah, notably the award-winning Wasit Wetland Center. Aboualam’s work has been showcased globally, including exhibitions at Yale University, Sharjah Architecture Triennial, Venice Biennale, and Citygroup Architecture Initiative in New York.
