Junior Graphic Designer

Art Jameel is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join its in-house design team. Working closely with the Senior Graphic Designer, the role will support the development and delivery of design projects across exhibitions, events, learning, wayfinding, communications, and institutional initiatives. This entry-level position balances production and documentation with creative input, offering the opportunity to grow within a dynamic, multidisciplinary arts environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Production
  • Support the design and installation of exhibition graphics (wall texts, labels, signage, etc.).
  • Assist in developing and applying brand guidelines, including documentation, templates, and systemization.
  • Produce and adapt design layouts for learning kits, library displays, and internal collateral.
  • Adapt events and institutional branding into campaign rollouts and department-specific materials.
  • Design and prepare digital and print assets for communications across all departments (social media, emailers, press kits, etc.).
    Contribute to the development of templates for recurring needs across exhibitions, comms, education, and other teams.
    Work on wayfinding and signage (interior and exterior), ensuring clarity and consistency with brand standards.
  • Assist in liaising with external suppliers (e.g., printers, signage vendors) and coordinate production needs when required.
  • Provide support during on-site installation and deinstallation phases of exhibitions and projects, ensuring graphics are produced, installed, and documented to standard.
Documentation & Systems
  • Help organize and maintain the design drive, ensuring assets are properly archived and documented.
  • Contribute to cleaning up and standardizing assets across past and current projects.
  • Support the development, documentation, and updating of brand guidelines, ensuring clarity and consistency across applications.
  • Maintain consistency with design protocols, workflows, and capacity tracking systems.
Collaboration
  • Work directly with the Senior Graphic Designer to ensure design requests are executed to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Exhibitions, Comms, Learning, Library, and other departments to deliver effective and timely design support.
  • Engage in creative research and contribute ideas during concept development stages.

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), plus After Effects and Premiere.
    Strong knowledge of typography, layout, and bilingual (Arabic/English) design.
  • Highly organized, reliable, and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and file management.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage a variety of design requests within structured workflows.
  • Strong visual communication skills and technical accuracy.
  • Team player with a collaborative and responsive working style.
  • Interest in contemporary art, design, and cultural production is preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow within a collaborative team environment.

Conditions of Work

  • This is a full-time position based in Dubai, UAE.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work according to events and programmes is as required
