Art Jameel Internships

Jameel Arts Centre is delighted to support the next generation of art professionals by providing internship opportunities to applicants currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programmes, and those committed to a career in the arts. Interns gain institutional work experience, networking opportunities and a certificate of completion. Our highly competitive internships are awarded based on merit, expertise and a rigorous interview process.

Interns can expect to receive training in social media, public speaking and communication, networking, and creative research; participate in regular review and mentorship meetings; and attend art events and talks. The experience should provide insight into working in a community arts organisation and career opportunities within arts and culture, and enable the mapping of local and international partners and opportunities.

Jameel Arts Centre offers two types of internships: rotational and specialised.

Rotational interns receive training with each of our departments to gain a rounded experience of what it takes to run an arts centre. Rotation durations are determined by the overall duration of the internship.

Specialised interns will focus on one aspect of our work, and be paired with a senior member of the team for the entirety of their internship. The tracks that interns may opt to work in are: Curation, Collection & Exhibition; Library and Research; Administration; Events; Arts Education; Graphic Design; Social Media, Marketing and Communications.
