Join us for the opening of Desert is a Forest by Sunoj D and Namrata Neog, the third Artist’s Garden commission at Jameel Arts Centre.
Desert is a Forest explores the biodiversity within the UAE landscape and the interconnectedness of humans, goats, plants and the natural mineral deposits that form in the desert. The garden includes a selection of plants, indigenous to the UAE that were traditionally consumed by both the humans and goats or used for medicinal purposes.
Join us on Saturday, October 17 in the Artist’s Garden for the opening of Desert is a Forest, which includes a reading performance. The text, written by the artists, is a poetic interpretation of the project and indigenous plants grown in the garden.
The garden is open on Saturday from 10am to 6pm and is free to all. There are a limited number of spots for the reading performance, which takes place at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm.
A 30-minute exhibitions tour will also be offered at 2pm on a first-come, first served basis.
Bookings are required, please email rsvp@artjameel.org and confirm the time you would like to attend.
