Down to Earth, the annual festival celebrating all things green, comes back in 2021 for an extended full weekend programme on Friday November 26 and Saturday November 27, 2021. Jameel Arts Centre invites gardeners, green-fingered enthusiasts, the eco-conscious and sustainability-aware to experience a range of entertaining activities for all ages.
Free and open to the public, Down to Earth features workshops, demonstrations and information stalls for children, teens and adults covering topics such as seed-sowing, composting, upcycling and living sustainably. Spanning across Jameel Arts Centre and the Park, this year’s festival features an expanded Green Bazaar, which offers a broad variety of indoor and outdoor plants, plus related eco-conscious and sustainability-aware gifts and products from local businesses, and a special festival-themed collection of design goods at Art Jameel Shop.
In collaboration with SOMA MATER, the Small Talk series returns with regional specialists presenting their expertise around the cross-section of food and policy as well as how to make an impact, while the Grow and Tell Zone offers hands-on demonstrations around topics such as gardening, composting and beekeeping.
Enjoy the open air and creekside views along with bites and refreshments in the designated picnic areas across Jaddaf Waterfront Sculpture Park from HERE-O, Salad Jar, Teible,The Ice Cream Shop and Veghana.
