Family Night

This Ramadan Night is dedicated to families and kids of all ages. Experience the museum at night, participate in a workshop, listen to a story, visit the exhibitions or enjoy a treat from one of the local eateries participating. 

Family Night is a free event open to all. Book your two-hour visit to Jameel Arts Centre here and check in at the Welcome Desk upon arrival.

Children’s Reading Session, 9:00-9:45 pm, Jameel Library | Kids of all ages can enjoy a live storytime reading by Nadine Ghandour of the Jameel Library to learn about seminal literary figures and artists who authored and illustrated children’s books during their careers. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 5+)

Lantern-making Workshop, 9:00-10:00 pm, Lobby | Working with Madeline Abu Nabah of the Art Jameel team, little ones craft their own shimmering lanterns in this 15-minute workshop inspired by Jameel Arts Centre’s exhibitions. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 6-12)

Make Your Own Guitar Workshop, 9:00-11:00 pm, Project Space | Using the kit provided to you, with instruction by Basil Azizoghly, gain some hands-on experience upcycling a cigar box into your very own one-string guitar. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 11+)

DIY Doll-Making Workshop, 9:00-11:00 pm, Sahaab | Receive a custom Dumyé DIY Doll Kit and the guidance needed to bring life to your blank-canvas cloth doll in this special Ramadan-inspired workshop. No sewing experience required. Please note: Participating children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian for this workshop. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 5+)

Stargazing and Sky Mapping Session, 9:30-10:00 pm, Roof Terrace | Join Dubai Astronomy Group to observe the moon and its craters up-close, capture magnificent celestial objects through a telescope and learn how to identify constellations while getting to know the ancient stories behind them. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 10+)

Building a Lunar Calendar, 10:15-11:15 pm, Lobby | Working with Madeline Abu Nabah of the Art Jameel teamt, young visitors create their own lunar calendar and learn about the eight phases of the moon in this 15-minute workshop. Limited capacity. Drop-ins welcome. (Ages 6-12)
