Family Saturdays at the Jameel

Join us for a special edition of Family Saturdays at the Jameel featuring a guided tour of the current exhibitions and a series of hands-on art making activities for all ages.

This edition features a deep dive into two of our current exhibitions; Jameel Prize: Poetry to Politics and Some Seasons: Fereydoun Ave and the Laal Collection 1959-2019. Following the tour, families are invited to participate in four immersive self-led activities inspired by the artists’ works.

As children and families tour the ground floor and second-floor galleries, participants gain a deep engagement with artists’ themes, mediums, and processes. Through the self-led activities, participants learn various interactive techniques such as constructing 3D structures, making street food packets, portraiture hatching, sculpture as well as curating a collection of works.

The activities are free-to-attend and run all day to encourage and support creativity and imagination. Jameel Arts Centre strives to provide space for children to share stories and foster cultural awareness while exploring forms, patterns, writing, and drawing.

Family Saturdays at the Jameel are suitable for all ages. All materials, step by step guides and instructional videos will be provided.

The tour begins at 11:00am and participants are welcome to drop by and enjoy the activities until 4:00pm.
