Family Workshop: Speaking with Images with Rashid Almheiri

In this creative and interactive workshop, parents and children work together to create a short visual story, taking inspiration from a curated selection of children and picture books from the Jameel Library.

Following a tour of the Jameel Library, families work together to create stories exploring various storytelling elements such as setting, characters, plots, and themes. This process encourages communication, imagination, and teamwork among family members.

Families learn to make zines and mini booklets to compile their work while using a variety of mediums to visually bring their narratives to life. This hands-on activity enhances artistic skills and allows families to creatively interpret their stories in a visual format.

Rashid Almheiri’s workshops are thoughtfully designed for families to express themselves, relax and create stronger bonds with their loved ones.

This workshop is free to attend and is suitable for families of all ages. Early registration is advised as spaces are limited.

No prior art experience is required. All materials and equipment are provided.
