“When you take something apart, how in the world do you remember how it’s supposed to go back together?”
A Palestinian teenager pens a letter to a lost friend, ruminating on fragmented identities, violence and euphoria. Using images taken by Israelis of the Gulf War, the First Intifada and rave parties, The White Elephant paints a portrait of a Palestinian teenager coming of age in the 1990s, reflected through the distorted mirror of Israeli pop culture.
The White Elephant is screened in conjunction with The Jump.
