Poetry Workshop – Self-Portrait in Verse, by Danabelle Gutierrez and Malavika Suresh

Self-Portrait in Verse is a two-day intensive poetry writing workshop facilitated by Danabelle Gutierrez and Assembly member Malavika Suresh. The workshop encourages participants to look beyond the self they present to the world and the self they aspire to be and introspect into who they truly are, through poetry. The guided workshop, in two parts, educates participants in writing a self-portrait poem by focusing on writing on the first day (May 11) and collaborative editing on the second day (May 12). The participants are invited to share their work and reintroduce themselves through their poems as part of a poetry showcase on Saturday, May 25.

This workshop series is organised by the Assembly 2023-2024 member Malavika Suresh as part of the 2024 Youth Takeover.
