This workshop was conceived as part of the Assembly 2020 Youth Takeover public programme and is delivered by filmmaker and poet Arthur de Oliveira. Limited capacity, first-come first-serve basis. Join poet, filmmaker, and theatre practitioner Arthur de Oliveira for an uncreative writing workshop. Mix matching ideas from the poet and visual artist Kenneth Goldsmith, participants will use the curatorial prompts written by the Jameel Youth Assembly for their Centre-wide takeover as the basis for their words. Channeling a specific artwork of their choice in mind, poets will then create their own piece by redefining the idea of text and hopefully poetry.

Arthur de Oliveira is a filmmaker, poet, and theater practitioner from Limeira, São Paulo, Brazil. Arthur’s travels and varied cultural exposure has sparked his interest in creating hybrid art pieces relating to globalisation, longingness, and immigration. Arthur is currently a freelancer in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
